celebrating life’s daily struggles and successes is an integral part of Greek culture. The relaxed yet festive atmosphere is ideal for creating camaraderie and sharing stories with friends and loved ones.
Taverna 19 was born from an American’s love and appreciation for the Greek & Mediterranean tradition of celebrating life. The concept was developed by our general manager, Steven Kowalczuk a.k.a. “The Cocktail Chef”, who opened the highly successful Taverna Plaka in Atlanta, GA. There he had the opportunity to learn about the Greek philosophy of celebrating life with food & wine from a family who emigrated directly from Greece.
We are proud to bring Taverna 19 to the Historical Strip District and the beautiful Pennsylvania Building. So sit back, relax and be our guest. Our staff is ready to walk you through our traditional menu, introduce you to some ouzo and even show you some authentic Greek dances in the true spirit of celebrating life, everyday!
